Professor Shafi Ahmed

Professor Shafi Ahmed is a world-renowned surgeon, teacher, futurist, and innovator. He is known for his pioneering work in minimally invasive surgery and his use of virtual reality to train surgeons. He is also a passionate advocate for global health and has worked in many developing countries to improve access to surgery.

Professor Ahmed was born in Bangladesh and came to the UK as a child. He studied medicine at King's College London and completed his surgical training in London. He is currently a consultant colorectal surgeon at The Royal London Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital.

Professor Ahmed is a TEDx speaker and has written several books on surgery and innovation. He is also a faculty member at Singularity University and Harvard Medical School. He is a recipient of numerous awards, including the Silver Scalpel Award from the Association of Surgeons in Training and the Top British Asian Star in Tech Award.
