Dr Jemma Shanley

I am a paediatric registrar currently working as an NIHR clinical research fellow. Prior to medicine I was a pharmacist. I am married to a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant and together we have a lively 4year old son. I am the Wessex regional trainee rep on the RCPCH trainee committee, where I designed a policy focusing on pregnancy loss and in/fertility in the workplace through my own personal experiences. The aim of the policy is to advocate for trainees in these sensitive circumstances across medicine and surgery, to support conversations with their educational supervisor along with providing resources. The policy is currently under review by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
