Jennifer McGarry
Regional Representative - Republic of Ireland
Jennifer McGarry is an ST3 General Surgical Trainee (RCSI) with a distinguished academic and clinical record. She graduated with First Class Honours in Medicine from the National University of Galway, where she also completed a First Class Honours Masters in Surgery (MCh) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education.
Jennifer’s clinical experience spans roles in breast, plastic, colorectal, vascular, urology, and emergency surgery across Ireland and Australia. She is actively involved in research and audit, with published work and presentations at national and international conferences, including the Sir Peter Freyer Memorial Lecture and the EAHPBA Biennial Congress. Her research interests focus on surgical oncology.
Jennifer is committed to surgical education and leadership, having served as a surgical tutor and currently as a committee member of the Irish Surgical Research Collaborative (ISRC), which reflects her dedication to advancing surgical research in Ireland. Jennifer is passionate about supporting surgical trainees and promoting excellence in surgical training across Ireland and the UK.
