Trainee Collaborative
Surgical trainee-led research collaboratives offer the opportunity to run large-scale multi-centre audits and trials by bringing together trainees into one collaborative research group.
A number of such groups now exist across the UK and their contact details can be found below.
Opportunities are available to all levels of surgical trainees, from those wanting to take their first steps in research and assist in data collection to those with a project idea they would like to develop into something that can be rolled out across the collaborative group’s region and beyond. Trainees would be able to:
- Discuss and get advice with protocol design, statistics, ethics, funding and the running of their study
- Find volunteers across their region to help with multi-centre data collection
- Continue projects even when they have rotated to another hospital
- Boost their CV with their name as a co-author of a major paper in a high impact journal
If you would like to update or add details of a surgical trainee-led research collaborative to this page please email us on info@asit.org.
As a pan-speciality surgical training organisation, ASiT strongly supports the development of, and participation in, this new paradigm for audit and research.
ASiT hosts a national collaborative meeting as a parallel session at its Annual Conference and welcomes expressions of interest from groups.
