Ms Nadia Karrim

Ms Nadia Karrim

Ms. Nadia Karrim is an ENT/Head and Neck Surgeon with an interest in Space Medicine, and over 15 years of experience in South Africa, Ireland, and the UK. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of the International Centre for Astronautical Development (ICAD), where she spearheads research on medical challenges in civilian space travel. She has partnered with the South African National Space agency and runs Space medicine research in collaboration with Russian space medicine organisations. She holds qualifications in aviation and space medicine from the Royal College of Physicians, the European Space Agency and King’s College London, where she is now a lecturer on ENT in Aviation and Space. She has also undergone hands-on training in hypoxia awareness, high-G exposure, and space flight emergency procedures at civilian and military institutions in the US and UK. Through research and outreach, she continues to drive innovation in safe and accessible space exploration.
