Ms Christina Fleming

Ms Christina Fleming PhD FRCSI is a Consultant Robotic Colorectal Surgeon in the UL Hospital Group, Limerick Ireland. She has a special interest in surgery for locally advanced colorectal cancer and surgery for disorders of the pelvic floor. She has been engaged in robotic surgery since 2015. She is a past National Rep and Vice President of ASiT and was involved in the first ASiT working group to examine the robotic surgery training landscape and the needs of surgical trainees regarding robotic surgery. Prior to taking up her consultant post she completed a European Society of Coloproctology Robotic Surgery Fellowship at CHU Bordeaux France in advanced pelvic malignancy with Professor Quentin Denost. She has widely published on robotic surgery training and outcomes based and innovation based research relating to robotic colorectal surgery. She has been involved in a number of robotic surgery expert groups and guideline developments. She currently is the General and Colorectal Surgery Lead on the National Advisory Committee on Robotic Surgery Training in Ireland.
