Mr Bil Kirmani

Bil Kirmani is a father to two boys. He was the first cardiac surgery consultant in the country (and one of only 1% of UK males) to take Shared Parental Leave. He is married to gynae oncology surgeon with a stellar career and they manage childcare between them. They are three-time winners of the nursery Easter Bonnet Competition. Bil is also a Senior Clinical Research Fellow, Co-chair of the BHF-NIHR Partnership Aortic Stenosis Discovery Science Theme and Cardiac Surgery Research Lead. He is militant about work-life balance, particularly for trainees, and is also deeply hypocritical. He does not have NHS Stockholm Syndrome.
