ASiT x AOT Core Skills in ENT

A hands-on practical course providing preliminary training in the management of key and critical ENT presentations. This one-day programme, organised and supported by the Association of Otolaryngologists in Training (AOT), welcomes medical students and junior doctors to join us for a fantastic opportunity to learn about the breadth and intricacies of our specialty. All grades and levels of experience are welcome.

4-5x stations of ENT core and emergency ENT presentations (examples listed below)

1. Surgical and emergency tracheostomy

2. Management of acute epistaxis

3. Facial plastics: Local flaps and reconstructive considerations

4. Paediatric airway management: Rigid broncoscopy

5. Flexible nasendoscopy ± a beginner’s guide to endoscopic sinus surgery

6. Tonsillectomy – Managing surgical ties and post-operative bleeds
