Aidan Bannon

Aidan is an ST7 Colorectal trainee based in Manchester with a strong interest in leadership, mentorship and education. He has designed and delivered multiple simulation based education programmes throughout his training and completed a 2 year part time Leadership Fellowship programme with Health Education England.  As ASiT Robotics Lead he co-led a national study to develop a trainee consensus on procedural requirements for robotic training and delivered the UK's first Robotics for trainees Conference, representing all surgical training specialties. He is working collaboratively with Industry to build on ASiT's strong education portfolio to deliver and develop pan specialty, platform agnostic robotic skills courses. As a senior trainee representative on Council, he recognises the challenges faced by trainees throughout all stages of their training and is committed to working proactively by positively advocating for structured and equitable robotic training for surgical trainees.
